Olympic Mountain Bike course – Sneak Peak!!!

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Here is a post from shop staff rider Sam Hart

“Yesterday I was fortunate to get to ride the Olympic Mountain Bike course in Hadleigh farm Essex!!!!

I had to pinch myself a few times! I was riding with Scott pro rider Brendan Faircloth (who was shooting for Dirt magazine with awesome photographer Grant Robinson), and the Olympic Mountain Bike team Liam Kileen, David Fletcher, Kenta Gallagher and Grant Ferguson.

Brendan Faircloth & Kent Gallagher - Two very different approaches to riding the course!

We were taken round by the course designer Phil Saxena of London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) who sure knows his stuff. It was pretty cool hearing what plans they have for the legacy course which will open to the public in late 2012. There are going to be various routes for different abilities, which means its an excellent place to go learn and progress.

This is me on my first run, 2nd time I was on top of the berm, honest!

The course was hard, unlike many of the recent reports which have suggested it is too tame. Well I can guarantee you it isn’t! It is a constant battle of sharp uphills, and steep downhills with technical rock features, shoots and drops.
I can’t wait to see the course rode at race level on TV during the games!”

My trusty bike that got me round!

2012 Specialized Range Now Online

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

If you haven’t already noticed, all the 2012 Specialized range is now on the Noahs website. Unsuprisingly, the new range once again looks fantastic, mixing high end new technology with value for money. The first thing you may notice is the definite sway towards 29″ wheels, with the World Championship winning Epic now featuring the bigger wheel, as does some of the Camber range. The new AUTOSAG on the Stumpjumper FSR’s looks to revolutionise how rear shocks are set up, whilst the new Status looks to set a new benchmark in quality, value for money Downhill bikes.

There are plenty of bikes that our staff are eyeing-up for themselves!

We might not be the 1st to have got the Specialized 2010 range online… and we might not quite have finished yet :-) but please take take a few minutes to look at their great range of mountain bikes and road bikes. We especially like the Specialized Enduro SL Comp 2010 which has great equipment from Avid Elixir brakes to SRAM X-9 rear derailleur and is a shade under £2k – this all mountain bike will take on just about any riding conditions with ease… rider dependent of course.

We had the Magura rep in here this week, he was showing off some of his new kit that will be arriving in July 2008, there was great excitement around the shop as the new forks were brought out for us to see.

One which caught my eye was the New Durin SL, an even lighter version of their already very light Durin, so light and apparently very strong. (more…)
